Member eligibility
Who can join Together Marathon County
The Together Marathon County Volunteer Hub is open to verified charitable and public‑service organizations that provide safe, inclusive, and non-discriminatory volunteer opportunities to the residents of Marathon County. Eligibility and training requirements help ensure volunteers have a welcoming, consistent experience across all partners.
Eligible partners
• 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations
• Government agencies (federal, state, county, municipal)
• Federally or state‑funded programs that rely on volunteers
Examples: ADRC, emergency management, disaster recovery,
• Public schools and higher‑education institutions
• Public hospitals and health systems
• Tribal governments and tribally operated community programs
Who Else Is Eligible:
Hospice programs may join the Volunteer Hub for an annual membership fee if they are:
- Medicare‑certified
- Required by federal regulation to operate a structured volunteer program
- Providing non‑clinical, no‑cost volunteer services to patients and families
- Offering safe, supervised, dedicated community‑benefiting volunteer opportunities
- Able to provide appropriate training, oversight, and safety practices
These programs may participate regardless of nonprofit or for‑profit tax status, as long as they meet all of the above criteria.
Not eligible
• For‑profit businesses
• Informal or unregistered groups
• Political campaigns or partisan organizations
• Organizations without a community‑benefit mission
• Groups unable to meet safety, oversight, or insurance requirements
Verification and participation requirements
• Proof of nonprofit or governmental status
• Signed agreement to platform standards, training participation, and nonprofit member policies
• Designated staff contact for volunteer coordination
• Commitment to safe, inclusive, community‑benefiting volunteer opportunities
• Maintain liability insurance appropriate for volunteer involvement
• Provide safe, inclusive, and non-discriminatory volunteer opportunities
• Address of primary location resides within and serves residents of Marathon County
Hospice program eligibility
Hospice organizations play a vital role in supporting individuals and families during end‑of‑life care, and volunteers are an essential part of that work. The Together Marathon County Volunteer Hub welcomes hospice volunteer programs that meet federal standards and provide meaningful, non‑clinical support to our community.
Because Together Marathon County is hosted and funded by a private family foundation with specific funding guidelines, Medicare‑certified hospice programs that meet our eligibility requirements are welcome to participate as members through an annual, fair‑market‑value membership fee. Review and approve partner profiles to ensure clarity and accessibility

Maintain the platform and keep it free for partners

Offer advanced training, office hours, and partner meetups

Share templates, tools, and best practices for volunteer engagement

Provide updates on platform enhancements and community initiatives

Support you in building high-quality volunteer experiences

Troubleshoot posting, scheduling, or communication challenges

Connect you with peers, employers, schools, and civic groups for collaboration
