Together Marathon County is making it easier to volunteer and connect with your community
What is Together Marathon County?
Together Marathon County is a collective of nonprofits, volunteers, and community partners working to transform how our region approaches volunteering. We connect people who want to help with organizations that need support, while building the capacity of nonprofits, partnering with employers to engage their teams, and creating a mobilized community of contributors ready to respond to local needs.
More than a volunteer platform, we’re a support backbone that strengthens the entire ecosystem of giving back. When nonprofits thrive, when volunteers feel valued, and when employers can easily engage their teams in meaningful service, communities become more resilient, connected, and capable of rising to meet any challenge together.

Stronger Together
We chose the aspen tree as our symbol because it represents connection and shared strength. Aspen groves are linked by a common root system beneath the surface, allowing the entire grove to grow and thrive together. Together Marathon County is built on that same principle—connecting people, organizations, and resources to strengthen our community.
Our Philosophy
Together Marathon County, in their words
“Together Marathon County and the BA & Esther Greenheck Foundation have been an invaluable partner in strengthening my work as a volunteer coordinator. Their trainings, networking opportunities, and ongoing support have provided practical tools and a sense of connection that’s often hard to find in this role. The Volunteer Hub reflects the collaborative spirit that makes our community stronger.”
Kathy Grall
Habitat for Humanity ReStore Manager & Volunteer Coordinator
“As the Volunteer Manager at Good News Project, my connection with the Together Marathon County Volunteer Hub has been incredibly meaningful. Being part of this nonprofit community asset has strengthened my confidence as a coordinator and reminded me that we’re not doing this work alone. The collaboration, shared learning, and ongoing support has helped make our volunteer program at Good News Project stronger and more sustainable.”
Rouleen Gartner
Volunteer Manager of Good News Project
When people feel connected, they take pride in where they live. Communities thrive when people feel like they belong.
